ABOUT

The name of this organization shall be the Booker T. Washington High School Distinguished Hall of Fame (“BTWDHOF”) Foundation.  A Board of Directors (hereafter “the Hall of Fame Board” or “Board” or “Director”) shall govern the BTWDHOF Foundation.

The purpose of the Booker T. Washington High School Distinguished Hall of Fame Foundation is to identify and honor graduates, retired faculty and administration, and patrons of Booker T. Washington High School who have exhibited high qualities of leadership, attained high levels of achievement, or made meritorious contributions to the school, local, national, or global communities. In addition, the BTWDHOF Foundation awards scholarships for graduating BTW high school seniors to assist with their pursuit of higher education.

The BTWDHOF Foundation was established at the beginning of the 1996-1997 school year as a function of the administration of the school. The BTWDHOF Foundation began awarding college scholarships to BTW seniors during the 2011-2012 school year.  In the 2012 – 2013 school years, it became a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and became the “Booker T. Washington Distinguished Hall of Fame Foundation.”

Each year the Foundation recognizes outstanding Alumni who have been successful and contributed to the school and community.  Proceeds go to scholarships.
